That's hilarious, what a bunch of losers.
Hey wait...
I had a few of their cassettes back in the day. I know the words to the Girls, Girls, Girls album. Dr Feelgood was pretty fun back in the day.
Alice Cooper is opening for them...
Tickets are how much when they come to town?
Anybody wanna go to a show?
Yeah, me neither. The past is just that, passed.

(12,132 posts)Too Fast For Love and Shout at The Devil but then we discovered Venom and Mercyful Fate and kinda forgot about everything crueish.
And yeah, Alice should be the headliner.
Still, if they come here and it's cheap enough, I'd maybe go just because I never saw them back in the day. And I love Alice Cooper.

(7,365 posts)Crue has way many more good songs. Alice Cooper's 1970s shtick comes off cheesy to me and his music just lacks musical weight. Ever see the video to Welcome to My Nightmare? Laughable. The music is merely OK. Whatever the case, Alice just wasn't very heavy...he relied on the stage show and a few ok tunes.
Motley isn't the 2nd coming and while Sixx was a lousy bass player, Mars was a very solid player as was Lee on drums.
Crue set the bar for sleazy rock and they were true to it, but also had some right rocking stuff with musical weight and a certain degree of heaviness. Shout at the Devil was pretty damn heavy with some really hard charging riffs (the riff in Too Young to Fall in love is actually pretty stellar). They penned some other good stuff along the way...basically all 4 of those dudes should be dead, but they made it.
As a fan of Slayer and the heavier stuff ... songs like Live Wire, Shout at the Devil, Looks that Kill, Wild Side, 10 Seconds to Love, Knock 'Em Dead Kid, Red Hot, Kickstart My Heart, On With the Show, etc...prove that despite cashing in on every cliche' (Satanism to spandex), Motley Crue's legacy is secure.
I also didn't like what Alice Cooper said about Rage Against the Machine (not that I am a huge RAM fan). He called their music "Social Fiction".

(2,750 posts)I think Guns N Roses opened for them which was a nightmare. I like the band, but they were toasted that night.
Motley Crue put on a huge show but musically nothing
