Think this is noro?

I woke up vomiting with terrible diarrhea this morning. I ache all over, and my head hurts. Feel like I have a fever but feel too bad to find the thermometer. I work in a long-term care center, where employees and residents have been going down with the same thing all week. I knew it was only a matter of time before I got it, but. . .damn.

The smilie below represents my morning:

Our son was home from college for Christmas and we were going to see his grandmother but her retirement residence was "on lockdown" due to Norovirus.

If you don't live alone, learn how to keep it from infecting others.-

At the center where I work, the labs were still out on a norovirus; guess it takes between five and seven days for a reading. Now it's mostly my head and body aches. I took and kept down two ibuprofen which have not helped at all. Sigh.

and got a horrendous bug. I took a warm shower and climbed into bed to try to sleep a lot, so I could be unconscious through hours of it, and let my immune system do its thing. Other than drinking a lot to compensate for the loss of fluids, that's my plan if I get it again.

So far I've kept two ibuprofen and one Tylenol down to no avail.

Dehydration causes headaches. Also, are you used to drinking coffee or tea every morning, but didn't today? Caffeine "withdrawal" causes bad headaches.
Some regular tea to sip might help.

Here's good advice from laundry_queen to nolabear when she was sick last month-

Your advice is right on. I researched noro and discovered I have 8/8 of the symptoms. I know it's highly, highly contagious. I think you're right about the headache, too. I ALWAYS drink one or two cups of coffee in the a.m. and, of course, couldn't today. Plus the dehydration.

I'll pull through!!

Noro is pretty contagious, and it turns up in places where a lot of people live and eat together (cruise ships, nursing homes, boarding schools). It's awful but fortunately it doesn't last long.
