So I hear the Broncos are looking forward to playing in the Superbowl next weekend

They must be glad for this week off, yeah?

(We showed it at a brewpub here in Mumbai and I was trying to explain American football to a few hundred locals. Statements like "That score you saw in the first play, the safety, is essentially unheard of" and "Four turnovers is fairly unusual" and "No, really, it's an interesting sport 99% of the time" abounded.)

to them how a ball that's carried to a particular spot where the guy carrying it goes down and the refs just sort of put it on the ground where they think it ended up, then they bring out the chains to measure and it can miss being a first down by less than an inch.

Had to explain a few rules of the game to my Pakistani friend (who's been a U.S. citizen for 40+ years!) We weren't watching it together, I didn't watch it at all, and I've never said 'No, really, its an interesting sport!'
