Irony

(Background: I work for a railroad) On the day I derailed a car because of snow and ice, our division received a pin for Best Derailment Performance. Lol!

FYI My crew didn't get in trouble because the snow and ice was the cause of the derailment and not a human factor incident plus I was able to put the car back on the rail.

I hear lifting one of those things to put back on the rail can be a bit of a challenge.

My buddy went to school there at Pacific U, and I'd visit fromWillamette in Salem and we'd ingest acid.
I watched in utter amazement when the trains would turn around on the big roundabout in the middle of the night.
From Salem we used to hop freights and ride all the way to Seattle, legs dangling out, meeting bums and smoking reefer.

And the crew would throw us pieces of the big chalk they used for marking the boxcars.
