Researchers develop car for a goldfish to drive

WE know goldfish are skilled at some things, but always thought it was limited to swimming, eating and hiding in underwater castles. However it now seems they can also be surprisingly good drivers.

A team of tech wizards at Studio Diip, which specialises in innovative image-recognition projects, have kitted up a goldfish tank with a camera and computer vision software, turning it into a robot car for their finned friends.
As the goldfish swims around in the tank, the system detects which way he’s heading and directs the car there, essentially allowing the fish to control the vehicle. “By swimming towards an interesting object, the fish can explore the world beyond the limits of his tank,” Studio Diip says.

See video of the goldfish piloting its car at Carsguide.com.au

Next year It'll be standard equipment on a Volvo. They'll call it Carp Drive. Then you can ride in comfort, read the newspaper or a novel, watch a movie, text all you want, and scream your head off when the car goes over a cliff.

...they are free to roam about your surroundings (not theirs), in their movable fishtanks!!!

Sounds like the Repug/Teabag Party Ultimate Dream for controlling the masses.

do you think they will be able to get?

Can Flo add a multi goldfish discount?

There are many questions that will have to be answered before goldfish are driving about?

Fish swim up and down. But mostly they go in circles. Maybe this would work well in round abouts.
