WE know goldfish are skilled at some things, but always thought it was limited to swimming, eating and hiding in underwater castles. However it now seems they can also be surprisingly good drivers.
A team of tech wizards at Studio Diip, which specialises in innovative image-recognition projects, have kitted up a goldfish tank with a camera and computer vision software, turning it into a robot car for their finned friends.
As the goldfish swims around in the tank, the system detects which way hes heading and directs the car there, essentially allowing the fish to control the vehicle. By swimming towards an interesting object, the fish can explore the world beyond the limits of his tank, Studio Diip says.

(40,416 posts)Next year It'll be standard equipment on a Volvo. They'll call it Carp Drive. Then you can ride in comfort, read the newspaper or a novel, watch a movie, text all you want, and scream your head off when the car goes over a cliff.

(20,886 posts)Fish swim up and down. But mostly they go in circles. Maybe this would work well in round abouts.
