A happy ending to my "bad boss" problem and thank you for the hearts.

Thank you for the hearts. I don't post very much now days and I appreciate you all thinking about me.

You may recall that I was having trouble with a new boss who was being a jerk. I was considering going to his boss and airing a complaint, but I was concerned that it might cause me more trouble. But I think things are going to be okay now.

I was in my boss's office yesterday and his boss was there as well. My boss treated me badly again, but this time it was in front of his boss. That couldn't have worked out better because the guy could see what was really happening first hand. His boss followed me out of the office and told me he didn't like how my boss handled that little exchange and told me that he'd take care of it.

A half hour later, I got a call from my boss apologizing for the way he had treated me. I guess he got his ass chewed pretty good. He claimed that he wasn't trying to single me out, but I don't believe that. For some reason, I think he's had it in for me for a while and thought he had a chance take it out on me now that he's my boss. I don't think it's going to happen again, and if it does I now have a person on my side in greater authority who will believe me and do something about it.

You so lucked out that your boss's boss Saw what happened. Your new boss must be a real piece of work if he was that dumb to treat you like crap in front of his boss. I bet your problem will take care of itself in the long-term.

Some days you are the bug, some days the windshield. On really bad days she would say some days you're the pigeon, some days the statue.

I didn't achieve my plan A as I would have wanted. Plan B found me as a single mom raising a child. I worked hard and sacrificed much. I surrounded my self with good friends as my family was far away. I graduated from Nursing School and became a School Nurse. We all know how well paid teachers are, so I always had to be frugal. I didn't think much of it then but I was accumulating a pension. Now, I can retire from this job with a pension and insurance. I am young (59) and healthy enough (and there is no incentive to remain) that I have decided to retire and go back to hospital Nursing and make some serious money.

I have been working since I was 16 and have eaten shit sandwiches on many jobs. I ate them not because I wanted to, but because I had to. When I got off duty and picked up my daughter and looked into that sweet face and smiling eyes, I knew it was worth it. I never lost sight of my priorities. My baby graduated from a top school and has been blessed with a career and job she loves and will do far better than I ever could have wished for. Now I am at a place where I don't have to eat anymore shit sandwiches. How much of this is luck I will never know. I know I put a lot of hard work into it.

Tobin, never give up hope. Be honest and true to yourself. Be able to look at yourself in the morning and not be ashamed. These things tend to sort themselves out.

How very stupid of your new boss to treat you badly in front of HIS boss!

Really, what an idiot.

That could not have worked out better!

Congrats, and keep on truckin'!

that the jerk knows he's being watched by his boss. Hope
he doesn't decide to just take it out on someone else. Some
people have no business being supervisors, and this guy might be one
of them.

I was thinking about your situation and hoping for some way you could communicate these problems to the boss' boss without seeming like a tattle-tale. Sorry the lower boss treated you badly again, but that was perfect- and now if he pulls any more crap you and others have a basis to report it 'cause he, in essence, put himself on probation.

Sounds like you might be the boss soon. If the big boss was willing to call him out that way, he's already on thin ice. Good luck!
