you have to shovel a path in the back yard so the dog can do his business.
Looks like 12" plus here in Montgomery Co. Md.

(21,020 posts)Mr Pipi always has to snowblow the dogs' yard, especially next to the fence, otherwise the snow builds up and they'd be able to jump over it trying to get at the deer that show up every day for their dinner.
And the lower part of their yard had one path carved out to the corner where they usually do their business.
And we're going to have to keep an eye on the propane tank next to the barn...keep a small area open in the snow so the robin that stayed behind last fall can get in beneath the tank. I guess he's been living under the tank, trying to escape the weather.

(14,881 posts)you have to climb out a window to get out of the house. From the second floor.
And I've come very close to have to do that. Last year, when the drifts were 10' high against one front door and 4' high against the other 2 doors. Luckily, one door had about a 3" gap between the 4' high drift and the door. But if I'd weighed just a couple more pounds....

(7,720 posts)there is snow, winds that are sustained and at least 35 mph for three hours or more and creating near zero visibility. Otherwise it's just a snowstorm.
