It moves at the speed of a glacier with all the minutiae, kind of a period soap opera. But the relationships involving the help and the hierarchies among butlers, assistant butlers, footmen, upstairs and downstairs maids are kind of fascinating. I'm not crazy about it but it's probably one of the best shows on contemporary television, which doesn't say much for the current state of TV.
