I went shopping. Love doing that when I'm a thousand miles (or more) from home. Seems like I can always find things that are different.

... the format suggests that the rates for these events are uniform. They're not. For example, there are more shoes bought in Phoenix during the hours when shoe stores are open.

Few things happens at a regular, steady rate. Not heart rates, not old "faithful," not even car production. I think the comic is intended to graphical (and temporally) illustrate semi-periodic events.
