In MOHS surgery they excise the tissue and freeze it and examine it while you're on the table. They keep cutting until the margins are clear. It took just a few go-rounds and they were done.

They covered the head wound they made with a skin graft from my thigh. It took 9 painful months to heal and I'm not sure it was worth it.

They also wanted to operate on my ear, which they said would be tricky to reconstruct the cartilage. I said no, and the spot on my ear later just disappeared.
