Belladonna is home from the vet
She got her last shots today, and as of 3pm is a free cat. I left her in the tack room with a small meal. In there, she is protected from my scary dogs, but is able to get out and climb around the rafters, as well as climb down to the floor and come and go from the barn as she pleases.
I told the vet she's so pissed off at me for locking her up the past 10 days that she probably won't stick around for 10 minutes, but who knows. it is her choice.
He said her shots are all good for 3 years. My last horrible abuse was to put a stretchable flea/tick collar around her neck, in part to ward off ticks and fleas but in part also to signal to neighbors that she is not a homeless stray.
When I put Dahli to bed at around 7pm, Bella was still in the tack room, although she'd left the (open door) crate and was sitting on the gym bag. So I left her with a fresh dish of warm water and a nice kibble dinner.
My expectations are low, but she has a home here if she chooses. There's good mouse hunting in these parts, after I spent months leaving cat kibble out for them.
