The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI haven't been around in forever, and probably nobody knows / remembers me
I've been lurking off and on, and have posted once in a while.
Anyway, I'm here to beg for some DU lounge love.
In exactly one hour, I have an interview for a tenure track position.
I'd love to get the job, but I'll be "OK" if I don't. I know the universe won't come crashing down.
And, I'm competing against two friends, one very dear to me, so I will be genuinely happy to see either of them succeed.
However, I've been teaching adjunct, part-time, with NO benefits for almost a decade now.
It's a hard life.
I guess, just send good vibes my way that I don't embarrass myself in front of the College President and Vice President.
It's a bit nerve-wracking, to be honest.

I'm headed off across campus now, to the Administration building.
Feeling a bit queasy, I won't lie!
The interview is scheduled for THREE HOURS!
So, I'll post to this thread when I get back, if I'm still alive......

Man, that was intense!
It ended up being 3 & 1/2 hours!
Met with the faculty of the division in which I'd be teaching.
It was billed as an informal "meet & greet" but really was more like an interview.
Then met with the College President for about an hour. It was a combo interview/discussion.
Then, an hour + with the Vice President of Academic Affairs & the Dean of Academic Affairs.
That was a really LONG interview!
I'm fried!!!!
I'm one of three finalists. Can't believe they're putting 2 people through this that won't get hired!
Anyway, I was told it would be at least a few weeks before I hear anything.
Thanks again for the support! I'm so warmed and humbled that you guys are so supportive of me!
