The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsJust got back from seeing Pet Shop Boys
and it was AMAZING!!!!
Just tonnes of fun and great music.
I'm happy because they did my favorite song of theirs: "It's A Sin"
Other standouts were "West End Girls", "I Wouldn't Normally Do This Sort of Thing", "Always On My Mind" and "Go West."
I love their cover of "Where the Streets Have No Name" , but they didn't do it. But that's OK, all they had to do was "It's A Sin" to make me happy.
Amazing light show and other visuals.
Very well worth seeing!!!!
Neil Tennant still sounds exactly the same, in all his nasally glory.
I'd write more but I'm really tired and I have to get up early in the morning.....

(12,132 posts)i missed out on a lot of 80's pop and new wave and stuff. I recently saw the Psychedelic Furs and they were pretty great.
I only know West End Girls from PSB but I'd love to see them do that live...I probably would like to see the rest of their stuff too.

(27,219 posts)You might know more of their songs but be unaware that they were Pet Shop Boys' songs.
Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)
Suburbia
It's a Sin
What Have I Done to Deserve This? (With Dusty Springfield)
Domino Dancing
But, even if those don't ring any bells for you, if you like West End Girls you'd probably like their other stuff.

(12,132 posts)Yep I recognize that - That's enough for me to want to see their show. Lol, I only went to Psychedelic Furs because a friend didn't wanna go alone - he loves them but all I really knew was Heartbreak Beat and Pretty in Pink. Glad I went!
Coventina
(27,219 posts)They were a really talented band with a unique sound.
They never came to Phoenix, though, that I know of, so I've never seen them play live.
Glad you enjoyed the show!!

(25,586 posts)help elevate them far above the limits of their synthpop peers. "West End Girls" still sounds fresh all these decades later.

(27,219 posts)over an interview with Neil Tennant when the interviewer got him to admit that "What Have I Done To Deserve This?" sounded like a Smiths' song (based on the title).
