Question about INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS **SPOILERS****

Jean tells Llewyn that she’s pregnant, and asks him to pay for an abortion. Since she was living with Jim, why was Llewyn so ready to accept that the child was his and not Jim’s?

1. I am not sure he was that willing to accept it but, Jean could have been telling Llewyn that she

was currently not having sex with Jim. I think Llewyn wanted to protect Jim from the knowledge that he (Llewyn) had been having sex with Jean and therefore was willing to pay for the abortion and let the secret stay hidden from Jim.

2. She actually answers that question herself in the film.

She says it is because she is not sure who the father is.

I really liked the movie. It seems to me that what it is about is actually Llewyn having a breakdown over the loss of his friend and singing partner. What did you think of it?

5. I kind of felt sorry for Llewyn. Seems like everything he touched turned to sh1t.

I enjoyed seeing a movie with some unusual subject matter, i.e., not a romantic comedy or action flick.

What you say about the breakdown makes sense. Maybe someday I'll watch it again with that in mind.
