was currently not having sex with Jim. I think Llewyn wanted to protect Jim from the knowledge that he (Llewyn) had been having sex with Jean and therefore was willing to pay for the abortion and let the secret stay hidden from Jim.

I really liked the movie. It seems to me that what it is about is actually Llewyn having a breakdown over the loss of his friend and singing partner. What did you think of it?

I enjoyed seeing a movie with some unusual subject matter, i.e., not a romantic comedy or action flick.
What you say about the breakdown makes sense. Maybe someday I'll watch it again with that in mind.
