The kitten saga continues

Lost another baby tonight. I checked 3 hours ago, and all were fine. However, looked again before I was going to sleep, and lost another. Down to 5.

Still try to settle down from crying. My husband hates when I cry, I get sick.

It looked healthy too. Not the one I'd think I'd loose. Fuck, this hurts!!!

It's very important because at that young, they can't pee and poo without help. Momma cat usually licks the areas to stimulate and if not, you can take a warm/damp cloth or cotton and do so right after eating.

Super, very important.

I've often said that we don't ask to be born, but we are. If we are lucky we are raised in a loving family that has enough. If we are very lucky, we go to college and if even luckier, graduate school. Then we get a job and work for 45 years. Since it is nearly impossible for the middle class to gain wealth, we end up slaves to debt. Finally, when our bodies begin to age, we come down with some gruesome disease that wastes us away. The medical establishment rushes in and gives us treatments as bad as the disease, and finally we die, but only after the medical establishment has taken all our estate it can. We leave the world naked with nothing, just as we came in.

Really there are only a few things that keep me going; love for family, devotion to a cause greater than myself and...

Kittens!

Kittens give purpose, humor, fun and love to the families where they live.

I am again very sorry for your loss. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the five survive!

Warm is super important - we learned with orphaned puppies that "warm and no drafts" was key to survival.

one goes down for no apparent reason. It's a reminder to all of us how fragile life really is. I'm sorry for your loss, and hope you know that you did your best, but sometimes an infant animal just doesn't make it.

There are no drafts. Mama is feeding and cleaning them. They are all little butterballs!! I don't know what's happening. I check on them multiple times a day. That is why I'm shocked.

However, her and her twin are calico's. Her twin had a litter almost 7 weeks ago, and only one kitten survive. I've been supplementing with kitten formula. Helping them out. Just keep passing away on me.

Maybe the dad has some kind of genetic problem he passed on to his offspring?

Cat being calico shouldn't have anything to do with the kittens dying.

Daddy is healthy also. We have no clue what is going on. We are thinking since first time mothers, are smothering them. This is why I check many times a day. I believe they are being smothered, and I go in there and re adjust the sleeping configuration. Keep them close together, however move them out from underneath Mama.
