I can see what appears to be very low lying clouds on the southern horizon. But instead of being grey they are the color of clay.

That is very cool indeed. I know some people get all bent out of shape by that word, but hey, it's part of the language.
I have always found weather watching to be fascinating.
I used to watch the Weather Channel, long ago! Before they stopped being very informative, that is.
