Woman spends $35,000 to look exactly like Kim Kardashian

A 24-year-old has opened up about her quest to look exactly like reality star Kim Kardashian - and her transformation hasn't come cheap.

Claire Leeson claims she's already spent an estimated $35,000 on breast implants, hair extensions, spray tans, makeup and clothing in an attempt to emulate her idol, and she is preparing to move on to Kardashian's most well-known, ahem, ass-et next.

Appearing on a British TV show, the Essex resident explained that the extreme measures she's taken to look more like Kanye West's wife were done in an attempt to gain self-confidence after being bullied as a teen.

If it is a minor thing like reducing a nose or jaw, tucking the ears, or spots I can understand. I've had spots zapped off my face. I very much disagree with the idea of plastic surgery, but then again it's her body and money.

Call me idealistic and naive, but learn to love who you are. Somehow I think she's going to regret this in later years.

I mean look at Micheal Jackson. He got thoroughly addicted to plastic surgery. What a dangerous and costly thing.

Plastic surgery is so common here in Korea. I talk about it in my class and it seems like most Koreans think it is just a normal thing. It wouldn't surprise me if some of them have already had plastic surgery of some kind (though I'd never ask). Usually it is the women and they want their eyelids cut to look "double" like a westerner. I heard my niece (who Korean and is 20) wanted that and I was ready to call her up and ask her if she was nuts.

I've told Koreans I think it is outright stupid. I don't hide my disdain for plastic surgery well. As I said I had a few spots zapped off my face, but that's a little different.

If my niece had been serious about doing it, I probably would have urged her mom to talk her out of it. Hopefully it was just a phase and will pass.

Looks are important here in Korea and that is what continues to drive plastic surgery.

Paying money to look like someone else is a desperate plea for help

First of all, Kardashian herself spent plenty to look like whatever it is she is right now. I've seen some before/after pics of her which I imagine might be available through Google images.

So in fact this person is making herself into KK's ideal of KK.

I think, therefore, this makes her desperate plea for help a desperate plea for help x 2.

Just a reality show wanna be??? She's nothing. Why not look like yourself???

I want another eye surgery, and cannot get it, since it would mess up what eye sight that I have right now!!!

I was born with an eye crossed inwards. At age 4, had surgery to correct, and the surgeon over corrected it, and now points out wards. Been that way for over 30 years!

I want to just look normal, not like a tv star!!!

and not overcompensating like the woman in the article. Those kinds of things are cheaper here in Korea. If you can ever afford it, look into what is called "medical tourism". Pretty much all medical procedures are cheaper here since costs are kept down by government regulations.

Correcting it now, will mess with my good eye. It's been too long living this way. I have the insurance to cover it, however, it'll only be physical. Just to look normal.

I wear contacts and glasses, and they don't help. The eye dr will not prescribe anything stinger to help that eye. There's no use. I'm just glad I have one good one to keep my license!!!

Other than the breast augmentation she did not have a bunch of surgery. Most of the money seems to have gone to clothes, hair extensions and such. So she must have some what resembled her "idol" already.

Anyone has the right to do anything to make themselves feel better, within reason, law, and cultural customs, so I will not condemn her for making herself feel better. However, how the hell anyone could consider Kim Kardashian an IDOL is beyond my understanding. I am sure I could think of a few hundred women more deserving of worship for their accomplishments.

If I had that much money to spend for self improvement, I'd...

-Put myself in a fitness camp.
-Learn a few new skills.
-Heck pay for more education.

I don't mind the quest for making herself feel better... It is just that... Kim Kardashian? Why... oh why? The Humanity of it all.

You truly live up to your name.

I had to have my students tell me who she was. They described her as somebody who had sex online and took the moment to catapult herself to fame. I don't know if this is true or not, it's just what they told me.

I have never seen her show. As a matter of fact, until an artist friend convinced me to watch some show with "runway" in the name (I think....?), I'd never seen a reality show.

Sorry if I sound like I'm trying to one-up you, LiberalElite. I'm not, really. Just pointing out some things in common.

not because I admire his looks but because I'm tired of having to come up with a costume every year to scare little kids at the door on Halloween when I dish out candy. One of my plastic surgeon's greatest challenges was to recreate Donald Trump's chicken ass mouth, a problem he solved by grafting a real chicken ass to my face.
