Unfortunately, the dove, robins, and racoons (mother & 7 babies) get more than the poor skittish kitty.

(51,122 posts)It's the kitties born and 'raised' in a feral state that are most difficult.

(2,958 posts)She doesn't run when I talk to her through my screen door, but if I move too quickly she scatters. She usually comes by early, and late at night.

Smelly cheap fishy cat food or sardines are the best lure for a feral cat.

(2,958 posts)When I contacted them the raccoons had not shown up, but now they are here. This is the first time I have ever had raccoons. I live on an island of sorts. The reacoons had to swim from three directions, or had a long hike to get here. Either way, that put a wrinkle in the capture.
I wanted to get her captured, shaved down, as she has a huge matted hairball on her back, and then bring her back to be an inside cat. I call her she, just because she looks like a lady, but she could be a he.
Once the racoons move on, we will try again.

(23,272 posts)You're going to have to trap them one by one and either kill them or take them across water so they don't return.
I'm hard hearted when it comes to the raccoons. I suggest you work your way through trapping and removing them, and then trap the cat. Get the cat the TLC it deserves otherwise s/he is in for a bad end.
