Finally, our nerdy cartoon dreams are coming true. While it's not the full-fledged comeback that fans have hoped for, the cast and characters of "Futurama" are returning to Fox this November for one episode of "The Simpsons" titled "Simpsorama."
"Simpsons" producer Al Jean announced the collaboration during a panel at the Television Critics Association on Sunday, TheWrap reports. All the main characters from "Futurama" will be included: Billy West, John DiMaggio, Katey Sagal, Maurice LaMarche, Phil LaMarr, Lauren Tom, and Tress MacNeille have reportedly all committed to the project. This will be the team's first appearance since "Futurama" ended its series run last September.
Matt Groening, who created both "The Simpsons" and "Futurama," has indicated that he wants to get "Futurama" picked up by another network after Comedy Central decided not to renew the series for an eighth season. Perhaps a crossover episode will give that mission the push it needs to bring the world of New New York back to our TVs.

(12,723 posts)The real mind blower though is that the Clampetts met all the folks from Hooterville on their show, including sitting down to Christmas dinner with the Douglases, yet there is an episode of Green Acres where the cast puts on a stage production of The Beverly Hillbillies complete with Oliver Wendell Douglas as Jethro Bodine.
The 60's were so just one mind blowing thing after another, man.
