Bodiam Castle

Bodiam Castle (used as the swamp castle in Monty Python and the Holy Grail) was built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge. It is surrounded by an impressive moat. The 28 toilets of the castle drained directly into the moat making it truly just an open sewer. It was not really a defensive feature, either, as it could easily be drained in a day.
