Robin Williams and I used to run at the same track.
Fairfax High School, at the corner of Fairfax and Melrose Avenue. Late 1980s.
I first recognized him because he ran like Garp, in the World According To. He had these big thighs, and floppy hands. I always thought that was part of the character in the film, but that is just the way that Williams ran.
We finally had a chat one day, and I told him how much I admired his acting and his choice of films. He was very nice, and little spacy.
May he rest in peace.
