Yeah, not sure where else to post this.
I need to get stuff off my cell phone. The touchscreen has stopped responding, but all other functions (that I can test anyway) seem to be intact.
The phone is locked using a pattern that must be entered on the touchscreen, which, obviously, I cannot do.
I've tried all the troubleshooting tricks I've Googled to no avail. Even took the phone apart to make sure all connections were good.
Any advice on how to get at the data? The phone has a keyboard. And a USB port.
I'd be willing to detach the touchscreen and try to connect another of some sort, even just for long enough to get the data off, but not sure how to go about this. Don't want to buy a replacement part.
Thoughts?

I've tried a soft reboot. Not willing to try a hard reboot since that will wipe all the data and that is the only thing I want to recover -- have already gotten another phone, albeit a different model so can't swap parts. Unfortunately, only now, after this has happened and in response to it, have I learned about rooting...
Pretty sure, based on things I've read, that it is the digitizer screen itself. I've just found a site with a replacement part for $11 so if I can't figure anything else out, maybe I'll do that. But I'd like to figure something else out for right now.
