You know how most music threads around here are full of the same old classic rock mainstays? Not this one! Post some music you like post-2000.
Macklemore - Fake ID
This is before he started working with Ryan Lewis, so the production/arrangement isn't nearly as lush as his current stuff. But it's funny - fucker.
Old Crow Medicine Show - O Cumberland River
From their new album.
John Zorn - Little Bittern
Yeah, I've been posting a lot of Zorn lately. Marc Ribot takes center stage on this one, but this is a collection of some of the best musicians in the world.
Muse - Knights of Cydonia
A little Prog, a little post-grunge 90s, a dash of Queen, and an awesomely silly video.

(9,808 posts)Yes, I like future pop/industrial.
Assemblage 23 - Darkflow (the whole album, Bruise, is excellent)
Darker Days Tomorrow - Desperate (local band for me)
VNV Nation - Streamline
VNV Nation - Sentinal (or Sentinel, depending on which release and when) (the counterpoint is worth the attention.)
Ayria - Infiltrating My Way Through The System (not my favorite, but I can't find the really interesting mix of Big City Lullaby to post.)

(46,179 posts)There is music from every genre and every era that I've heard that I like, but my go-to music is generally the '50s through the '90s. Part of that is because I don't listen to much radio and I don't live with young people any more, and part of it is that I'm not much impressed with what I hear when I do. But there's always good stuff out there. Here are a few selections that I like, in no particular order:
Arugula Latte
(50,566 posts)There are waaaay too many great newer songs to choose from, so I'm sort of picking at random:
