We own our home and our hobby room doesn't face our neighbors. :) MerryBlooms Aug 2014 #2
No argument here! Great value...and can't go wrong with Fender. Steerpike Aug 2014 #3
But to equal the Fender 40 amp, they want $250. MerryBlooms Aug 2014 #4

The reviews are good. Fender makes good equipment. At our house we have a Fender Jazz bass (mine) and an old Fender Twin Reverb amp that is still going strong.

I hope that you don't live in an apartment that you could blast your neighbors from. Assuming you don't, it looks like a useful amp.

Tell him to ROCK ON!

I do play in a room in my house too and I don't need anything more. If I were to be gigging I would prolly shellout 600 dollars or so for a real toy. But for a room inside a house this is more than enough. You can buy a used on for 79 bucks.
Of course it is all in the ears...people who love VOX will always get VOX...
But as I said before...there is no knocking a Fender Amp.

I'm in an apartment building. It's noise-proof but not quite THAT noise proof!

I have a 15 watt Marshall that is much like a smaller version of that Fender, and Fender makes great amps! If I lived in a house and could enjoy the Fender at high volume, I'd be in Heaven.

Fender because they have tube power and thus have a warmer tone. Don't worry about wattage for a home amp. 15 watts is plenty powerful, even for taking to jams. If your husband is used to playing through tube amps he'll appreciate the hybrids. If he's been playing through solid states amps a new world of tone will open for him.

I've been playing guitar for over 40 years. I've played through solid state and tube. I currently own 6 high end tube amps that range from 15- 60 watts; three Fenders, a Matchless, a Crate and a Supro. I also have a small Vox solid state amp.I have asound proof studio. I use all of them but I play through the 15/20 watt amps more often.

What ever you decide to buy your husband is sure to enjoy it. I hope he knows how lucky he is.

This will really help me to narrow it down. I've been playing guitar for
over 40 years.

1. What make/model is his guitar?
2. Is this for home use? Or does he play live?
3. What style of music does he play? Rock? Country? Blues?
or a little of everything?
4. What is your price range?

He has 2 that he's built from kits (I think one of them is Fender, not sure about the other), a Fender and 3 acoustics (one of those I know is a Martin). He recently picked up a mandolin and a ukulele to play around with over the winter, and I am pretty sure he'll do another kit.
