Three music-related coincidences in one year!
As some of you know, I live in Japan but am originally from Arkansas. Last March, I was discussing the Japanese nuclear disaster with a local greengrocer. At the time, he was playing American blues music over his shop's intercom. After a while, the greengrocer asked me about my plans for the immediate future-- was I going to tough it out in Japan, or was I going to return to the US? At that precise moment, the singer of the intercom music blurted out, "Tell your mama, tell your pa, I'm gonna ship you back to Arkansas!"
And now tonight, I was listening to my iPod as I waiting for my turn at a barber shop. The barber shop was also playing American music over its intercom. The song playing on my iPod was "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head". Just after the song ended, I heard it start again. Did I inadvertently push the replay button? No, my iPod start playing a different song. So I took my earphones out, and voila, that was the song that was playing over the barber shop's intercom!
And to top that off, the next song on the barber shop's playlist was "Sugar, Sugar", which is the song just before "Raindrops" on my iPod!
