Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI'm watching the American Horror Show for the first time.
What is up with all that loud music? The actors whisper and the music gets louder.
Jessica Lange is mesmerizing, however. Worth watching just for her, though the whole thing is effective. New Halloween classic in the making.

(46,760 posts)I'm guessing that Jessica Lange had to do something with his murderous spree to give the twins a scapegoat.
Though, you would think that a clown would directly tie him to the freak show.

There was actually a time when I could handle it, but now it has to have some artistic value to it, (i.e. good story telling) before I'll give it a chance. Jessica Lange's emmy award was a definite plus.
But, I lost interest in gore for the sake of gore somewhere through the Saw movies, and I think it's because the hostel movies just finally got to me.
I hate movies where people don't stand a chance. Too much of that going on in real life to be an escape.

(14,400 posts)of American Horror Story. They started out with Murder House, then Asylum, then Coven and now Freakshow. They tend to use the same general cast and Jessica Lange has so far always been kind of the center of the group. Sarah Paulson (the twins in Freakshow) plays a journalist that gets kidnapped by Jessica Lange's mother superior character who is running the asylum.
It's not really gory, just monumentally freaky. I know what you mean by the gore and I can watch it if I know what's coming. I didn't care for Saw, Hostel 1 was good because it was pretty unique at the time but I truly enjoyed Cabin In The Woods and Tucker and Dale vs. Evil...both pretty gory but really unique with a good dose of humor.
I'm going to try and catch up with Freakshow on demand, I can't get to it on Wednesday nights.

(46,760 posts)I like the cast, so I probably will like the others. Might pick up the Coven on DVD.
