212/134

I'm guessing that probably isn't a good blood pressure reading.

My father, to put it politely, is a complete authoritarian asshole. I don't like to help him with things because he is a micro-manager and believes in the "kick-down" theory of management.

The dryer at my parent's house has a dryer line that periodically needs to be drained due to ill construction. Mom just takes the wet/dry vac and sucks it out. I came by to help her do it. Well I made the mistake of telling my father that I was helping her do this.

His eyes lit up with excitement that there was something he could direct me to do! (He is recently retired, and he is craving something to do - which means he is craving to find everyone ELSE something to do while he "manages&quot It was a project he could manage and direct his servants in doing since they could benefit from his wisdom!

I had to walk the hell away. When he sticks his nose in something, you have to cater to his ego, and I am not fucking interested in doing so.

My blood pressure went to 212/134 and I walked away. I'm shaking I'm so pissed.

Can't stand tea with sugar. I also brew decaf if you can believe it.

Luzianne Decaf tea in the green box.

I drink it by the gallon, no sugar, just delicious tea-ness

without the caffeine. I quit caffeine, but I still like to drink unsweetened tea. So I brew it, ice it up, and enjoy.

I like my iced tea brewed extra strong, though, so it is like hot tea X2 over ice, which is why I do decaf.

They can live to be over 100 years old

Mine are still small, but they are hardy.

Edit: WAY North of me. I could spit in the Gulf if I took a nice walk.

I weigh 112. I've lost about 15 lbs that I can't afford to lose since they retired and decided their new vocation was driving me f-ing crazy.

if that's what it is usually like then
it sounds like you should be on medication for that.

if that was just a freak thing then have you considered meditation or biofeedback or some sort of relaxation technique?

One week before we were to be married, I was ironing my slacks for work.

He comes up to me and begins to tell me how to iron my slacks, 'correcting' me.

I stopped, looked him dead in the eye, and said, "Have you ever even had an iron in your hand in your life?"
He laughed hysterically and said No.

If that had happened at an earlier point in our engagement, I would have postponed the wedding, and NOT
marrying that a** would have been the best choice. But it was the week before a big church wedding with
200 guests, food ordered, etc. So I married him. Ugh. I was only 19, and that was stupid, too.

That overwhelming need to control just got worse and worse over the 9 years we were together. And devolved
into emotional and finally physical abuse, which is when I packed up the babies and left.

I've had that issue with other people in my life, too. Mostly men. Men who have never cooked, managed a kitchen,
done any housework, none of life's routine tasks, but insist on telling me how to do them. If I do it my way, then
they feel emasculated. petulant, angry, and take it out on me. Of course, they aren't going to pick up a broom or a mop or a frying pan or do any type
of work, but feel the need to order others around. Because THEY have control issues, my life was made hell. In every
case, I can tell you that if I had a penis, no attempt to do such stuff would have ever happened.

Hugs and empathy!
