Church of St. Mary and All Saints.

The Church of St. Mary and All Saints in Derbyshire has a crooked spire. A cheeky bit of folklore contends that a virgin once married in the church and the church was so surprised that the spire turned to see the bride. Legend says it will turn back again when another virgin marries. Perhaps it is for this reason couples give it wide berth when planning their special day. Only three weddings were held there in all of 2010.

It was meant to be straight.

I suppose since it was built in the 1360's and soon began to twist that it's not as dangerous as it looks.

that the twist had something to do with the wood drying and shrinking at different rates.
