I got over this 3-day cold that is going around and now I can smell EVERYTHING

Maybe this is what it is like to be a dog. It is like my sense of smell went up ten-fold.

It is unique. My palate comes and goes, especially during winter. There are times when I can't taste much of anything (which is a good time for chili or cheap wine). Then it comes roaring back. But my nose has never been like this.

I'm going to rule out pregnancy or stress as the cause because I am male and relaxed.

the roasted corn and lobster chowder with saffron ?

And regardless of which one, it smells terrific!
