Yesterday, November 21st, I was sworn in as an American Citizen!!!!!

Another 'thing' to thank Canada for eh?

I've been quite ill lately and hopefully on a learning road to recovery but this was one thing I wasn't going to postpone.

There were 64 New Citizens sworn in by a district court judge who happened to be an hour late for the ceremony LOL

The National Anthem was sung by one of the Federal workers and it was amazingly beautiful. She has a gorgeous, rich and sincere voice.

I could barely stand for the parts we had to stand for having just gotten out of the hospital after being there for 2 weeks and receiving 6 units of blood. (different story for another day).

It was very moving, more than I thought it would be ...

A video taped address and welcome from President Obama was really nice too.

i think that's wonderful.

i don't know if it entails a sense of accomplishment, relief, happiness, or satisfaction. or other emotions i'm not imagining.

but those !!! tell me this life event is thrilling and joyous. and for that i want to say congratulations and give you a very big, warm hug.

i hope, somehow, this helps to relieve some stress which, in turn, helps to improve your physical well-being.

i just want you to know that your words of comfort, along with the tenderness and empathy of your voice and spirit, have been so precious to me for these past five years and have helped to ease my journey through my darkest hours.
