Kitten finds home after rescue
CALEDONIA — From trapped in a sewer behind a Caledonia Pick ’n Save to a loving home — in just more than a week.
The Wisconsin Humane Society took in a kitten, Lucky, on Dec. 3 after she was rescued from the sewer by the Caledonia Fire Department. Firefighters responded to a call about the kitten and lifted a manhole cover near Pick ’n Save, 5111 Douglas Ave., luring the kitten out to get it to safety.
The Humane Society said it was grateful for the extra effort.
“They don’t have the resources all the time to go out and make those rescues,” said Alison Kleibor, director of animal sheltering. “She really is ‘lucky’ in that way.”
