More Shameful Woman Things



Tampons weren’t commercially available until 1930 and gained some acceptance when Tampax introduced their version in 1936. Women used to make their own from surgical cotton or natural sponges bought at art supply stores. Church groups and physicians expressed dislike for store bought tampons. Doctors had been selling “medical tampons” to their female patients for years, and it had been said that “tampons paid the office rent”.

when I was a teen living in western Nebraska, it was common knowledge that once a girl used a tampon, she was no longer a virgin. It was also common knowledge that guys liked to date fast girls, but that they certainly didn't want to marry them.
