Do you have a favorite car song?

(I've asked this before, but it's been a while)

I was cruisin' in my Sting Ray
Late one night
When an XKE came up on the right
He pulled down the window of his shiny new Jag
And challenged me then & there to a drag
I said "You'e on buddy, my mill's runnin' fine
Let's come off the line now at Sunset & Vine
But I'll go you one better if you've got the nerve
Let's race all the way,
To Deadman's Curve"

Car Song:

edit to add lyrics:
Brrrm brm brm brm brm brm brm, brrrm b' brrrm,
Brrrm brm brm brm brm brm brrrm b' brrrm,
Brrrm brm brm brm brm brm brrrm b' brrrm.
Brrrm brm brm brm brm brm brrrm.

Take me riding in the car, car
Take me riding in the car, car
Take you riding in the car, car
I'll take you riding in my car

Click clack, open up the door, girls
Click clack, open up the door, boys
Front door, back door, clickety clack
Take you riding in my car.

Climb, climb, rattle on the front seat
Spree I spraddle on the backseat
Turn my key, step on my starter,
Take you riding in my car.

Engine it goes boom, boom
Engine it goes boom, boom
Front seat, backseat, boys and girls,
Take you riding in my car.

Trees and the houses walk along
Trees and the houses walk along
Truck and a car and a garbage can,
Take you riding in my car.

Ships and the little boats chug along
Ships and the little boats chug along
Boom buhbuh boom boom boom buh boom,
Take you riding in my car.

I'm a gonna send you home again
I'm a gonna send you home again
Boom, boom, buhbuh boom, rolling home,
Take you riding in my car.

I'm a gonna let You blow the horn
I'm a gonna let you blow the horn
A oorah, a oorah, a oogah, oogah,
I'll take you riding in my car.

I had a 62 Impala with a 327 in it + a 4 speed

I drag raced it one time, and got beat badly by a 61 Chevy that had been "juiced-up"

(The race ended quickly when the CHP came out of nowhere & pulled us both over)

Later on, I had a 65 Chevelle SS with a 327 & a 4 speed....That was a great car!

I saw Chuck Berry live several times...The man sure does put on a show!

Speaking of Chuck Berry, a great but little known movie about Chess Records, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Etta James, & Willie Dixon is called:' Cadillac Records"
It's a very good film.
It shows how Chuck Berry hated to stay at "colored hotels" and eat at "colored restaurants",
so while on tour in the South, he slept in his Cadillac & ate sandwiches he bought at delis.

Jerry Garcia died way too young, IMO.

(With no help from Google, off the top of my head)

It's the little old lady from Pasadena
(Go granny, go granny, go granny, go)
She has a pretty little flower-bed of white gardenias
(Go granny, go granny, go granny, go)
But parked in the rikitty old garage
Is a brand new, shiny red super-stocked Dodge

She drives real fast and she drives real hard
She's the terror of Colorado Boulevard

It's the little old lady from Pasadena!

Ooo,,, she's like a smooth stretch of highway
Ooo... she's like a cool summer breeze
If my motor's runnin' right, we might lose control tonight
Got the shape I love to squeeze, looks that bring me to my knees
Oh please, let it roll tonight

From their 1988 album by the same name, their first after the death of Lowell George.

Tach it up, tach it up
Buddy gonna shut you down

It happened on the strip where the road is wide
(Ooo, rev it up now)
Two cool shorts standin' side by side
(Ooo, rev it up now)
Yeah, my fuel injected Stingray and a four-thirteen
(Ooo, rev it up now)
A revin' up our engines and it sounds real mean
(Ooo, rev it up now)

Tach it up, tach it up
Buddy gonna shut you down

Declinin' numbers at an even rate
(Ooo, movin' out now)
At the count of one we both accelerate
(Ooo, movin' out now)
Ya my stingray is light and the slicks are startin' to spin
(Ooo, movin' out now)
But the my four-thirteen's really diggin' in
(Ooo, movin' out now)

Gotta be cool now
Power shift here we go

Superstock dodge is windin' out in low
But my fuel injected Stingray's really startin' to go
To get the traction I'm ridin' the clutch
My pressure plate's burnin,' that machine's too much

Pedal's to the floor, hear the dual quads drink
(Ooo, pump it up now)
And now the four-thirteen's lead is startin' to shrink
(Ooo, pump it up now)
He's hot with ram induction but it's understood
(Ooo, pump it up now)
I got a fuel injected engine sittin' under my hood
(Ooo, pump it up now)

Shut it off, shut it off
Buddy, now I shut you down

Shut it off, shut it off
Buddy, now I shut you down

Shut it off, shut it off
Buddy, now I shut you down

Shut it off, shut it off
Buddy, now I shut you down

Shut it off, shut it off
Buddy, now I shut you down
