Can't make this a poll because there are only 10 poll slots and there are 12 varieties of Girl Scout Cookies...
For me, it is a tie between Thin Mints and Samoas.

(102,276 posts)I have not tried about six of those listed though and the ones I bought this year went straight to friends and family, since I am avoiding sugar...
Good luck, Girl Scouts, though. ....And to hell with those RW factions trying to smear them.

Second place is up for grabs... But well down the scale.

Yup! Thin Mints at 25 cents a box! Still love them but I think they tasted better in the old days. I know they were thinner.
Kindly don't give too much thought to the price then. Things are not the same and I know it.I went door to door and sold a ton of them plus the few other flavors available at the time. We even had to deliver them. I don't know how things are done now. I see the Girl Scouts in front of our local banks and grocery stores selling the cookies. Smaller boxes. Over $4.00 a box, no delivery. Oh how things have changed.
Life can be gauged on things as simple as Girl Scout cookies. Sigh......

(63,912 posts)I could certainly understand parents' fears.
It's wonderful how sure of themselves these Girl Scouts are, tho. I credit the organization for teaching them to stand up for themselves. The girls who were at my supermarket selling them were terrific. They had strong confidence and were loving the experience. Of course, who can resist buying those cookies...I did notice that one of their troop leaders were on hand...not hovering but just "there" for them. My supermarket made every effort to make them feel comfortable inside with a little table and chairs. Good for community relations. And they were situated right where you are about the exit the store...hard to walk past and ignore...I hope they made a a lot of money...

(9,527 posts)So individual parents or troops might discourage door to door sales due to fears of the random stranger child molester, but not the organization as a whole.
My guess is that it's easier to sell cookies from a centralized location than going door to door. For example I've seen them set up outside a grocery store. It makes it easier for them to sell as an impulse buy and not have to lug boxes around. Plus a group of two or three girl scouts can staff a booth with one parent rather than each scout needing a parent to go with them around the neighborhood.

(115,693 posts)The new ones are smaller and kind of waxy. I also loved the old Savannahs. By "old" I mean when I was selling Girl Scout cookies myself, several decades ago. Seems like all the new cookies are smaller and less flavorful. Or maybe it's just me; guess I'll go yell at some kids to get off my lawn.

(63,912 posts)I now buy my groceries with cash because I believe I save more money when I know my cash limit. And the girls were in the supermarket so I used up some cash I hadn't spent and bought a $4 box of cookies. It was a nice feeling.

(130,908 posts)I only use my debit card, so there's a similarly built in cash limit as you have.

As far as a poll, you could put three of the weird flavors as 'other.' I would probably put Cranberry Citrus Crisps, Thank U Berry Munch and Thanks-A-Lot in the 'other' category.

I've never had the cranberry citrus crisps, but they sound awesome, and I think they would be my favorite if I tried them.
