Jon Stewart says Philly is ’the worst,’ even compared to Indiana

http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/trending/Jon-Stewart-says-Philly-is-the-worst-even-compared-to-Indiana.html

On Monday’s episode of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart took on the highly controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act out of Indiana, slamming everyone from supporters to the NCAA in the process. And, perhaps not surprisingly, Philly didn’t get away without a black eye either.

‘Let’s face it, People from Indiana are no nicer or s------- than people from anywhere else,” Stewart said of the state’s residents. “Except Philly — that’s the worst.”...

But Stewart has ripped Philly pretty continuously over the years. Prior to Seyfried’s appearance, he had called cheesesteaks "waste-beef trimmings coated in liquid cheese,” the Phanatic a “Jim Henson reject piece of s---,” and the city itself “so dumb it uses its art museum as exercise equipment.” And that’s just from one bit.

But this one is nowhere near as upsetting as when, in 2010, Stewart asked God why Philadelphia remained “sitting there” untouched while New Orleans continued to crumble in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and Nashville suffered severe flooding. That one stung.
