An instant coffee substitute made with barley and chicory. In Europe it's called Caro.
I'm always on the lookout for alternatives to tea - which I can't drink anymore. Recently I've come to the understanding that one day I will probably have to give up coffee as well. Found this on the shelf at the grocery store:
I like it. With sugar and creamer added, it tastes a lot like instant coffee and I'm okay with that. I tried it as iced coffee and it'll do. Soon, I'll make a pitcher of it maybe with some orange extract and my stevia/sugar blend.
