In the past three weeks my grandson's (age 13) team has been usurped by the adult coaches who have called each other horrible names, turned each other on to the league president, etc. etc.
Yesterday it got so bad that the opposing team's coach kicked dirt at another team at the end of the game and the teams weren't allowed to shake hands.
And crazy at it sounds, the players (teens) walked off the field and shook hands with each other (their school mates).
Sad but true, the kids were the only adults!
Now I have watched this league all season and I am of the opinion that these kids should be allowed to play a game... Sans ANY adults... Like a Sandlot game, for the pure fun of it. No moms screaming, no dads giving minute to minute advice.
I give props and admiration to the adults who are there for every game, but couldn't they just for once let the kids enjoy the pure game of ball without all the politics and stress?

(72,790 posts)for a living, I wish parents were banned for all games. LOL
Some parents are just awful.
I agree---let the kids enjoy the game without the stress and politics.

(30,740 posts)line the parents up and see what you get. Pick the kids, not based on talent, but on whose parents are the most cooperative and least disruptive.
Coaching from the stands is bad enough, but this kind of poor sportsmanship is ridiculous.
