I had to turn it after a few minutes. Total right wing bash a hippy crap.

(115,683 posts)I watched the whole two hours; I thought it was very nuanced. I was in college in those days, kind of a hippie myself, and I remember the Manson murders and the antiwar movement very well. Those were strange days. The main character is an old-style cop who doesn't understand or like what's going on; his partner does undercover work but is sympathetic to the hippies and particularly the civil rights movement. It's kind of unfair to jump to conclusions after watching for only a few minutes, don't you think?

(30,736 posts)I can't take the idea of fictionalizing something as evil as Manson and his group. No, thanks.

I'm enjoying Aquarius for the pulpy entertainment that it is.
It doesn't appear that it is going to be an attempt at accurately examining the Charles "Tex" Watson murders.
Sometimes it is best to just "print the legend"

(35,015 posts)The whole Manson thing isn't really my style so I haven't yet....maybe I'll catch the first episode at least.

(17,193 posts)I'm spoiled, everything I watch these days is on DVD. It has its moments... some of the ironic juxtapositions work pretty well, but I think they're trying to cram too much into the series. Frankly, I think it would be cooler if they just lost the whole Manson thing.
