"Soft Paws" for kittehs. UPDATE

Last edited Thu Aug 20, 2015, 11:57 AM - Edit history (1)

Does anyone out there have experience with this product? I bought some 'cuz my kitteh is bad about scratching people. She also likes to jump up to peoples' shoulders from the ground up and she doesn't care if you're expecting it or not. She just likes to ride around on peoples' shoulders. Anyway, even though I try to keep her talons clipped, there are always one or two that are lethal at any given time. I'm leaving town Thursday and the last time my house- and kitty-sitter stayed here she got scratched pretty bad. I've made an appointment for the vet to apply the Soft Paws because I know: She. Will. Hate. It. Any advice? Experience? Please share.

The Soft Paws are great! Zooey doesn't seem to mind them. She can still climb up her her kitteh towers and actually seems sweeter. I was afraid she would bite more but she doesn't. I'd recommend this product. (I actually got the brand sold at Petsmart and it's not called Soft Paws but it's the same thing. The kit includes the glue and 40 nail covers and it was on sale for $7.00.) Also, the vet tech put them on for me which I'm sure helped.

and kitty may chew them off, so you may want to learn to DIY.

Twenty-five dollars every time she needs a re-do. I'm having the vet do it this time because I'm so crunched on time. Thanks for your input.

They save her furniture, but have to be replaced often. She does it herself.

My Sidney is to young for them just now, but I have a feeling we will need them in the future. Please let me know how it works out for you, and her, and the sitter.

My Zooey has already started doing a number on my couch even though she has a cat tower, scratching posts, etc. Oh well. I sort of take it for granted with a cat. I figure claws come with paws and I don't believe in de-clawing. The Soft Paws come in different sizes from XS to Large. Zoe is just about five pounds so I got the small. Hope they work. Thanks for the input.
