(2,560 posts)No, they really do. my wife and I went on holiday in Jordan two years ago. We stopped in the desert and there were a couple of camels watching us. They began to approach us and eventually they allowed us to pat them. They had big grins on their faces (so did we). Lovely animals. I didn't know we Ozzies exported them. Camels were introduced way back when and still roam in certain parts of the outback.
I wondered if the dropping an object into a hole leading to the centre of the earth incorporated the fact that g (acceleration) would be much less once the body was deep inside the earth. Pleasingly, the seem to have done so.
