This is one of the biggest bulls I've ever seen. Nearly 6 feet tall at the shoulder. A giant with 'nads bigger than
my head. Although all he's done so far is make big hoof prints around the house, he could easily bump my plumbing
or dent a car or anything he wants to do. I chase him off, throwing rocks. Last year he hung out here for almost a week.
ETA: This is not him, but the closest picture I could find on line.

(14,400 posts)give them the number and they'll be able to tell you who owns him. If he doesn't have a brand I'd just go bugging the neighbors, they usually don't wander too far.

(25,816 posts)If you don't want cattle on your property, you have to fence them out.
I enjoy all the wildlife, a family of mountain lions was spotted by my neighbor recently, many javelina, an occasion
whitetail deer, coyotes and more. But this bull--he could do some damage.
Plus, I couldn't afford to fence the whole place. And I'm not sure I'd want to get close enough to read his tag,
if he has one.
A HERETIC I AM
(24,368 posts)or something as strong (I realize that's a little over the top...but still) that fella, or one as big will go right through any fence he cares to. Barbed wire or no, if he wants through, he is going.
When I was young I lived in Australia and while there, had the opportunity to go out on a cattle station. One of the chores was to check the fence around this rather small place of a mere 787 square miles! (Over a half million acres)
We found this section of barbed wire fence down. About 60 to 80' plus a couple posts and the anchor post about 100' away pulled over to an angle.
The hoofprints in the middle of this were the size of a dinner plate.
Big fella just decided he wanted to be over there. So he went.

(55,008 posts)most around here that are all black are Brangus, a cross of like 2/5 Brahma and 3/5ths Angus (I forget the original mix, but they are now their own recognized breed)
tag numbers in AZ don't mean much, they are just for individual ranch identification, the brand is what is most important. If you can read it (most likely on one side, either shoulder, the ribs or on a hip but could be in other spots) or get a picture, I can look it up as I have a brand book. Actually I think they may finally be on line now too - az.gov blah blah dept of Ag, brands.
I just got one myself. This is George Fiddy:
you can clearly see his new brand, mine - it is called the sunny K - on his left ribs, his previous owner has a dot M on the left thigh. a brand is mandatory in Arizona to prove ownership.
