How do I get Facebook to stop making friend suggestions and other unwanted meddling?

It's intrusive when I see recommended pages that come out of no where. And the worst thing is when they put together history pages with someone that you really have no special reason to follow. It's like Facebook is worse than the malicious town gossip.

I just give the screen a stern look and, in a commanding voice, loudly say "STOP THAT!"

I've been using it for about a year or so. It blocks anything you want blocked-add pages, that annoying bullshit on the right hand side, auto-play videos, people you know, etc.

It's great and very customizable.

Every once in a while I have to log in through a non-FB Purity browser and oh god...what suckage I'm missing.

It has thoroughly enhanced my FB experience.

The way I did it, was to have never have had an account and never visiting anyone else's.

I'm guessing it's too late for you to try that.

FB has made a couple recommendations of people in my contact list. I assume their mobile App goes through the numbers in your phone and recommends accounts linked to those numbers. It also recommended some people I know whose numbers are not in my list who also have no mutual friends. That is a tad freaky.
