I go to DU mostly for news, head to google for confirmation. I do things like that.

You can click on the header of each item, for instance "Baltimore Unrest", open it into another tab, and as news comes in it will show up there for easy following.
Any stories I want more of, I open a search engine, or click the link at the bottom of the news box .
