my Andy Rooney moment for the day: using nt or eom in subject lines on DU

nt = no text, it means the body of the message has nothing to read.

eom = end of message, it means the exact same thing as nt or (nt)

My understanding is, you type them in the subject line to indicate that, yes indeed, there is absolutely nothing to read in the body of the post.

If I am wrong, I will publicly flog myself with a wet noodle! Have a good weekend.

Putting nt or eom is a way to indicate that the reader does not need to click to read further.

There is no further.

Putting nt in the message text block is silly, because someone still has to open the message block to see it and the purpose of putting it in the subject line is to save them the trouble.

Unless you enjoy making other people work harder.
