First, from one of my favorite bands ever, Doll$Boxx (and I really hope the Gachapin ladies and Fuki decide to do more with this side project):
I also love Aldious. This is only a sample, not the whole song, but I wanted something with the new drummer (who's Terry Bozzio's stepdaughter...small world!), and there aren't any full length versions I can link to:
And of course Wagakki Band! Japanese folk/prog...what more need I say?

(41,831 posts)I have to admit I do love Jrock and visuel Kei and there have been some bands down though the years that I just adore. And than there is THE SCANTY that border on Jpop and Jrock.
I also love JinnyOops.. I call them my girls, Cause I met them and became actual friends with them. We keep in touch, and follow each other on twitter.
love CHATMONCHY TOO ..saw them live in concert
Your last song reminds me of the Yoshida Brothers, who I hope I am related to!!!

(17,195 posts)Even if you don't particularly care for the song, reaching #1 in the USA (for a month!) when there is not a word of English in the song is pretty amazing.

(6,261 posts)I recently read a followup story to that song and found out that the singer died in a plane crash in the '80s and while the plane was going down, rather than running around screaming with his hair on fire and making deals with the devil as any normal person would have, was able to write a heartfelt love note to his wife and made sure the note would be found in the remains.
Well, damn...

But yeah, Mr Sakamoto was definitely a badass, there.

(41,831 posts)He's a bad ass actor as well, love the guy. He ended up really marrying his screen girlfriend in
the movie Great Teacher Onizuka and she was smart to snap him up, after the movie was made, he got a ton of proposals sent to him!!
You shouldn't miss out on the other songs, they are great!
