I stumbled across Tor this evening after watching a documentary about nefarious activity on the Web. I can see a legitimate use for Tor, but looking through the directories for hidden sites I see a lot of bullshit. Also, I'm not sure that I really know how to access the Dark Web. I get the feeling that what I'm seeing initially is a front of scams and that the real show is behind the scenes still yet.

(4,259 posts)You have to know precisely what you're looking for, and the road signs can be confusing.
And you have to install the Tor browser first. Without it, you get nowhere.

The best use I have for all of it is the Tor browser on the clear web. It basically makes you invisible on the Internet. I don't think I'm going to have much use for the dark web.
