(46,715 posts)Very few of those clips were new material. Just that last scene seemed to be part of next season.

Granted, no one believed them, but still funny.

(4,138 posts)(or at least not one determined by his lineage - he obviously has leadership skills, and may emerge from whatever is coming as a legendary hero) He was never/will never be a recognized Targ for the exact same reasons he has always been a Snow. He could be legitimized as either name by royal decree, but I don't see the Westerosi noble establishment accepting him in any kind of formal feudal role however he returns.

(56,828 posts)seem to have accepted that Ramsay Snow became Ramsay Bolton. So, I don't think Jon Snow becoming at least Jon Stark is a big deal. That said, I would think it nearly impossible for him to be realized far & wide as Jon Targaryen. The only living person that knows is Howland Reed (not on the show) - and, it may be something Bran finds out, both in the show and in the books. And, Bran isn't the most mobile of persons.

(4,138 posts)Ramsey is merely a bastard with a legally recognized royal legitimization, backed by Roose's military and political dominance in the North. Unless Jon flat out survives the attack, he isn't going to be seen as fully human. Also, the most likely avenue for Jon's legitimization is the yet-unseen will from Rob, but that could be easily discounted as either a forgery, or the unlawful decree of a deposed traitorous king. Plus, politically the Stark loyalist faction seems to have pinned their hopes on Rickon - putting Jon in the succession is a complication that isn't really in their interests.
Also, all the Winterfell/White Harbor material in ADWD makes it very clear that Ramsey's acceptance is paper thin. It's holding for now, since nobody is strong enough to openly oppose the Bolton-Lannister-Frey coalition, but it's unstable as hell.

(56,828 posts)what happened with the "will" that Robb Stark sent to Howland Reed - many think it confers legitimacy onto Jon Snow that way. I think Robb's word would carry more weight than Roose Bolton.
Also, if Jon survives via resurrection, only a handful of men from the Night's Watch have seen him "die" - he could call them ghost stories meant to discredit him. And, who knows if Wun Wun and/or Ghost will kill them?
