People who say "going forward" always seem to pronounce it as "foh-wud" (without the "r&quot !

And "brand" when used to refer to someone's reputation.

I work with an academic vice president who uses this word instead of "draft." Excuse, me but what's wrong with "draft?" Well, I'll tell you. This idiot floats half-baked proposals on an entire school that has 14,000 students. Then when it blows up in her face, she revises it. That's an "iteration," as in "that iteration didn't go so well."

IIRC, "iteration" comes from software writing.

Who knows where she picks up these terms.

When someone says "I reached out to so-and-so in Chicago", I picture them with long, stretchy arms. When did it become too much trouble to describe the actual form of communication?
