Princess peanut has Degenerative Myleopathy/1/1/16update

from Wiki....Canine degenerative myelopathy, also known as chronic degenerative radiculomyelopathy, is an incurable, progressive disease of the canine spinal cord that is similar in many ways to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). .....Progressive weakness and incoordination of the rear limbs are often the first signs seen in affected dogs, with progression over time to complete paralysis. Myelin is an insulating sheath around neurons in the spinal cord. One proposed cause of degenerative myelopathy is that the immune system attacks this sheath, breaking it down. This results in a loss of communication between nerves in lower body of the animal and the brain.

She is a very good princess dog, is a total mommas' dog. The vet, and I will make sure she doesn't hurt over the next month.

Happy Update, the steroids have kicked in and she is getting up from her bed, to let me know she wants out, and will come into the kitchen to see what I'm doing and if I need a dog.

Tim and I had been carrying her outside for over a week, so this is good for all of us. it won't change the long term prognosis, but today is a good day.

I have a few on the old cellphone, but the sound that the camera made seemed to bother/annoy her. I'll get the camera out this week and try some more.

My favorite welsh corgi developed this (corgi's are very prone to this disease). They said they really aren't in pain with it and she never acted in pain at all. But when it got so bad that she could not walk at all anymore, it was time. Am still so said and I miss her very much.
I send my sincere sympathies
