I have two computers, one is connected to the Internet through a wire, going through a router.
(I also have an XBox360 that can access the Internet.)
I have a laptop connected to the Internet through the router, WiFi.
I'm trying to connect a tablet just purchased to the WiFi, it keeps saying I need the password, but I can't find it!
The tablet is a "trio stealth g5," 8 gigs memory.

(958 posts)It should have come on a sheet in the box with the router. It will be five groups of four digits like this:

Look on the bottom of the router and see if there is a sticker that says "Gateway Label". You might find the key there also.

(2,103 posts)Assuming it's still not working you're looking for a code on the outside of your wireless router, which will be called something similar to 'wireless network key' (see image). This is the password you need.
If that still doesn't work then the key has probably been changed, and you either have to log into the router to discover what the current password is, or reset the router to its factory settings (recessed button somewhere on the router). Sounds like you might need some 'in the room' help if it gets to this stage though.

(34,136 posts)Often the password is on a sticker there.
Mine was on the box the router came in - the tech who brought it to the house cut the label with the router model, serial number and key/password number on it. I haven't needed to turn this router over because of that but did with my old router and the one at my mother's house.
